Early in her medical training, Dr. Kiesau was struck by how invaluable ophthalmology can be in deciphering clues to understand a patient’s systemic issues. Furthermore, she was also fascinated by the intricacies of the eyes and expanse of possible diagnoses which are centered in the optic part of the central nervous system. She specializes in pediatric care and surgery.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Kiesau completed her residency at Northwestern followed by a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital, now known as Lurie Children’s Hospital. Today, she is a Faculty Instructor at Northwestern University.
Dr. Kiesau is trained in the treatment of strabismus for children as well as adults. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Her areas of expertise include treatment of tear duct obstructions, amblyopia management, and diagnosis and surgical treatment of strabismus. Dr. Kiesau is fluent in Russian.
